The Village of Gilberts respects your privacy. You can browse most of this website without giving us any personal information. When you do share something — like filling out a form — we use it only to answer you and serve the village.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us. That includes:

• Your name, email, and message when you use the contact form or sign up for the newsletter.
• Basic, anonymous visit data — like which pages are popular and what kind of device you used — so we can improve the site.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it except as needed to run a service you asked for or as required by Illinois public-records law.

Cookies and analytics

This site may use small files called cookies to remember basic settings and to measure how the site is used. This data is anonymous and helps us see what is working and what needs fixing. You can turn off cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will still work.

Third-party services

Some tasks are handled by trusted outside providers. When you use these, you are covered by their privacy policies as well as ours:

• BS&A Online handles utility and bill payments. Your payment details are entered on their secure system, not stored by the Village website.
• Municode hosts the searchable Village Code.
• Embedded maps and meeting videos may load from their providers (such as Google).

How we use your information

We use what you send us to reply to questions, process requests, deliver newsletters you signed up for, and keep the website running well. That is it.

Public records

The Village of Gilberts is a unit of local government. Some messages you send may be subject to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act and could become part of the public record. Learn more on our FOIA page.
